Add countdown timer to video in Adobe Premiere CC

Let me demonstrate you how easy it is to add an old school looking countdown timer or a so called universal counting leader to you video projects in Adobe Premiere CC.

Open or create a new project.

Adobe Premiere project that is ;)

  Set the right size for your Premiere video project

In the menu click File ...

... New and choose Universal Counting Leader...

In the new window set or leave the settings as they are.

Click OK.

You can now change the appearance of your Premiere's universal counting leader.

You can observe the changes in the same window.

Click OK when done.

Your timer is now done and ready for your video, you will find among your other project files (see picture).

Now click and hold the Universal Counting Leader ...

... and simply drag it to your project timeline, like any other object (see picture).

That's all, now play your video and see how it fits in.
