How to cut a video clip in Adobe Premiere
One of the video editing essentials, if not THE essential is certainly knowing how to cut videos into smaller video clips.
1.
Click File and choose Import to import a video clip you are going to cut into smaller pieces.
2.
Drag and drop the imported clip to Video 1 Timeline.
3.
You can use the timeline zoom slider to zoom into the clip a bit (see picture).
4.
Now click and drag the triangular time marker to the point you want to make the first cut on your clip.
5.
You can also use the Jog wheel to fine tune your cutting point (see picture).
6.
Click to choose the Razor Tool (see picture) ...
7.
... and click the point on Video 1 where you chose to cut your video clip.
8.
Now choose the end point on the timeline same way you chose the first cutting point and click to cut the clip.
You just cut your video clip into three smaller clips, let's get rid of the middle one and stick the remaning two together.
9.
Choose the Selection Tool (see picture) ...
10.
... and click to select the middle piece of your clip ...
11.
... press Delete to get rid of that piece
Now click the remaning clip on the right side ...
12.
... and drag it to the left until it sticks to the remaining clip on the left side (see picture).
13.
That's all, you just performed your first and I'm sure not the last video cut.
Press Play to see the result (see picture).
