How to disable Important email marks in Gmail

Gmail predicts which emails might be of high importance to you so it marks them as important with a yellow icon. If your inbox ends up full of so called important emails, this is how you disable this feature.

This are the Important emails in Gmail I am talking about. In my case all of a sudden, all the emails I was getting were considered as Important.

That's why I may as well disable this Gmail functionality.

Click the Gmail settings button ...

... and choose Settings.

In Settings page, click Inbox.

Go down a bit and find the Importance markers: option and check the No markers option.

From now on the emails will no longer get marked as important. You can of course turn the functionality back on at any given time.
