Spectacular video made of hundreds of stitched together images taken by the Mars Express spacecraft showing the Red Planet in three dimensions like never before.
Mars Express spacecraft took off toward Mars 10 years ago and arrived at the Red Planet six and a half months, where it has been orbiting ever since. Until the date, Mars Express took high resolution images covering 37 million square miles (97 million square kilometers) of Mars' surface. The whole surface spreads over the 56 million square miles or 145 million square kilometers.
Mars Express spacecraft, property of European Space Agency (ESA), has orbited the Red Planer almost 12,000 times, taking photos of Martian canyons, valleys, mountains and lava flows. The photos have then been carefully stitched together and processed in a wonderful 3D video you are about to see.
