Google established a development group called Google[x] which started Project Glass. Their goal is to develop technology "that hat helps you explore and share your world, putting you back in the moment".
Experience a regular day, and walk around the city, looking through Google glasses.

What do you think guys, is there a future in these kind of glasses? |

Sure why not, I'm just afraid people wearing them are going to fall "under control" even more, as among other useful stuff, the Glasses might suggest you where to buy more things you actually do not need. |

Awesome! Made me want to jump along.
When are Google Glasses actually going to be available for the purchase? Are there any specific known dates and markets?

Google successfully obtained the anti-theft patent for Google Glasses. The so called theft-deterrent system makes the glasses stop working immediately if a sudden and unnatural movement occurs. The system also disables the glasses if it detects that the one who is wearing them is not the owner.

Google just announced that you can be one of the chosen ones who will have a chance to get their hands on Google Glass before they go into mass production and hit the market.
All you have to do is to tell Google via Google+ or Twitter what you would do if you had the Glass. Applications need to be sent until the February 27th and this are the rules:
- Your application must be 50 words or less
- You must include #ifihadglass in your application
- You can include up to 5 photos with your application
- You can include a short video (15 secs max)
- Be sure to follow us on Google+ (+ProjectGlass) or Twitter (@projectglass)
- You must be at least 18 years old and live in the U.S. to apply
If you are one of the the chosen one doesn't mean you get the Google Glass for free, you will need to pre-order it for $1500 plus tax and attend a special pick-up experience, in person, in New York, San Francisco or Los Angeles.

According to Financial Times. Google Glass will be manufactured in the Silicon Valley, California - USA.
Manufacturing locally will allow Google’s engineers to be closely involved with the production process and provide more opportunities for last-minute fixes and for personal customization. |

The following infographic made by a German designer Martin Missfeldt explains how exactly Google Glass works. It's suppose to project data through a prism and focus it directly on the retina to overlay the scene in front of you.

Google Glass can apparently let you take photos with only a blink. It's suppose to have a little cam/sensor facing the person wearing it.
Check out the video posted by Mike DiGiovanny demonstrating the photo taking wink gesture.
