Hi.

Can anyone explain me why are politician parties "separated" by left or right side? I know that lef minded politicians are more liberal and right more organized, but why these words?

It all began during the French revolution in 1789 when the members of National Assembly that supported the king went to the president's right and the ones that supported the revolution to his left. The ones on the right including the king were loyal to the religion, the ones on the left were of the opinion the people who govern should support private and public interests and shouldn't be divided into parties.

The left-wing supporters are the ones who are usually for progression and are more liberal as oppose to right-wing supporters who are more conservative and traditional. In theory the two opposing parties should be there for a healthy political balance and common good, but this is only in theory.
