Cancelled Nokia MeeGo prototype images |

Images of a canceled Nokia MeeGo prototype device have emerged, showing us what kind of devices would be released after superb Nokia N9 device. Device would be called Nokia "Lauta" RM-742 and it supports QWERTY keyboard and was planned to be N9's successor.
Specifications were reportedly identical as those in the N9, except for the hardware keyboard and we can compare it with N950 device, which was released only for developers. Official release was at the end of year 2011. We are really sorry that Nokia drop the MeeGo operating system because it was really evolution in this button featured phones.

| It's really sad that MeeGo is dead or not supported by Nokia anymore. I really like the Nokia N9 because swiping is something new and other companies should think in that direction. |

I think swiping is not exactly new because WebOS also uses a lot of swiping for navigation. But the story is similar to Meego. Great operating system that was brought down by bad business decisions.
But now HP is releasing Open webOS under the Apache 2.0 license which means that anyone can use it, so we still might see some products with this OS.
