We all love popcorn and as I have heard they are healty too, because they lower our holestelrol and reduce illnes. Well, lots of salt is also not good but anyway, can anyone tell me, how popcorn looks like and how did we find out about it?

I know it's corn but what are the differences?

Popcorn is one of the oldest types of corn, evidence of popcorn found in Peru could date as far back as 4700 B.C. In 16th and 17th century Native Americans introduced popcorn to the English explorers.

Popcorn is a special kind of corn as it pops and puffs up when you heat it up. The reason why it does that, is the hard hull sealed with moisture and interior made of dense starch. So that's why when you heat the popcorn, pressure inside rises until it pops.
