I warmly recommend a visit a web page which was developed for greatest inventor of all times. Yes, we are talking about Nikola Tesla and it's good to know, that Thomas Edison was probably a big jerk.

Nikola Tesla (10 July 1856 – 7 January 1943) was a Serbian-American inventor, physicist, mechanical engineer, electrical engineer, and futurist. He was an important contributor to the use of commercial electricity, and is best known for developing the modern alternating current (AC) electrical supply system. His many revolutionary developments in the field of electromagnetism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries were based on the theories of electromagnetic technology discovered by Michael Faraday. Tesla's patents and theoretical work also formed the basis of wireless communication and the radio.

Nikola Tesla, the original geek. Great video and I've heard before about Edison stealing his ideas and making them his own, very naughty! Tesla really was ahead of his time, I mean he practically invented WiFi so to speak, and a lot of his inventions are integrated in the very devices we are using right now, crazy!

I have read three books about him and enjoyed everyone of them.
He was really a genius in every sense of the word and I really recommend everyone reading his biography.
