Hi.
I heard that HTML5 will become standard in 2022 and I wonder is that really possible? I think it will be sooner, but if we check the market today, there are still diskettes in some PCs, so ....

It should be sooner for sure, but people are still using web browsers that do not support HTML5. For instance IE8 does not support HTML5 but you wouldn't believe how many people are still using that old browser and even older and most site owners still don't want to give up on that traffic. I personally hope it will happen sooner, flash is a thing of past, why would you want to use an extra plugin for multimedia content to run?
I see a lot of potential in HTML5 especially in mobile world, more and more developers are already adopting HTML5, the problem are still the mobile web browsers they do support HTML5 but not all the benefits that this new mark up language allows. I believe this is due to the apps, which at the moment are the real money bringers, I don't believe that Google or Apple do not posses the knowledge to make their mobile browsers fully HTML5 functional. Until they the come up with the new monetization model, I'm afraid we won't witness massive HTML5 adoptions, rich mobile media is the key though.
Meanwhile, take a look at some cool sites that are already running on HTML5:
