Charles Dickens was one of the greatest, if not the greatest English writer of the Victorian period. He was author of one of the most memorable books in the history such as The Adventures of Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, A Christmas Carol, The Chimes and many, many more.

The less known fact is, Charles Dickens was also a journalist and during the years 1850 and 1870 was the editor of the most popular magazines from that era, Household Words and All the Year Around.

More then 3,000 volunteers signed up for the task to scan all his remaining articles - all 30,000 of them to be than put online. The University of Buckingham, that organized the whole Charles Dickens journalism initiative indeed put all the scanned articles on the Dickens Journal Online (DJO) webpage: http://www.djo.org.uk
