Challenger Deep is the deepest spot on earth, located in the western Pacific Ocean in the so called Mariana Trench and it lies 6,83 miles (10,99 km) bellow the surface.

National Geographic explorer and famous film maker James Cameron, known for his big budget movies like Avatar or Titanic, plans to reach that ocean's deepest place. Check the video bellow, to find out how they locate that deepest place in the ocean.

Visit http://deepseachallenge.com to find out more about the ongoing Deepsea Challenge project and the deep submersible called Deepsea Challenger.

James Cameron did it! He is the first human to reach the deepest and most alien point in the Ocean, Mariana Trench 6.8 mile (11 km) deep.

Dive into the deepest darkness took James Cameron and his Deepsea Challenger sub 2 hours and 36 minutes, ascent - the way back up, took about 70 minutes, which was faster then expected.

James Cameron being an epic adventures director, took care of the filmography side of the expedition as well, so we may expect an epic Deepsea Challenge documentary or motion picture.
