Trains, who doesn't like trains? I decided to create a list of the baddest, fastest, longest, oldest, most powerful and luxuries trains of all time. Let's kick it off with the oldest still operating train in the world.
The Fairy Queen the oldest running vintage steam locomotive in the world was built in the year 1855 by the British firm Kitson, Thompson & Hewitson for the British firm East India Railways and is still going to this date.
Union Pacific Big Boy 4000-class locomotives are considered to be the largest among the successful steam locomotives of all time. Twenty five of this iron giants were built between the year 1941 and 1944. Big Boys were 85 ft 3.4 in (25.99 m) long 16 ft 2 1⁄2 in (4.94 m) high and weight 762,000 lbs (345,637 kilograms).
China Railways HXD3B is the most powerful locomotive in the world. It produces astonishing 12,874 horsepower. The locomotives are designed for heavy haul freight applications (up to 7,000 t or 6,900 long tons; 7,700 short tons train weights), and to be capable of multiple working of three locomotives. The design is also specified for temperatures down to −40 °C.
Australian BHP Iron Ore train, the longest and heaviest train to ever run in the world. The record was set on june 21, 2001 in western Australia between Newman and Port Headland, a distance of 275km (170 miles) and the train consisted of 682 loaded iron ore wagons and 8 GE AC6000 locomotives giving a gross weight of almost 100,000 tonnes and moved 82,262 tonnes of ore, the train was 7.353 km (4.568 miles) long. The CRH380A is designed to operate at a cruise speed of 350 km/h (217 mph) and a maximum of 380 km/h (236 mph) in commercial service. The original 8-car train-set recorded a top speed of 416.6 km/h (258.9 mph) during a trial run and the longer 16-car train-set temporarily held the world record for the fastest production train at 486.1 km/h (302.0 mph).
French TGV (Train à Grande Vitesse) holds the record as the fastest conventional train in the world. In April 2007, a specially tuned train, reduced to three cars with higher voltage, broke the world record, reaching 574.8 km/h (357.2 mph).
Japanese JR-Maglev is the world record holder for non-conventional train having achieved 581 km/h (361 mph) on a magnetic-levitation track.
English LNER Class A4 4468 Mallard is the fastest ever steam locomotive. The speed world record of 124.5 mph (200.4 km/h) was achieved on 3 July 1938.
The PRR S1 class steam locomotive (nicknamed "The Big Engine") was a single experimental locomotive, the longest and heaviest rigid frame reciprocating steam locomotive ever built. The streamlined Art Deco styled shell of the locomotive was designed by Raymond Loewy. It was 140 ft 2 1⁄2 in (42.74 m) long and its high speed capability was such that some have claimed the S1 may have even exceeded the 126 mph (203 km/h) record steam locomotive speed set in 1938 by the LNER locomotive Mallard.
The M-497 (nicknamed Black Beetle) was an experimental jet-powered locomotive test bed of the New York Central Railroad corporation, developed and tested in 1966. The car reached a speed of 183.68 mph (295.54 km/h), still the light-rail speed record for the United States.
The Schienenzeppelin or rail zeppelin was an experimental railcar which resembled a zeppelin airship. It was designed and developed by the German aircraft engineer Franz Kruckenberg in 1929. Propulsion was by means of a propeller located at the rear, it accelerated the railcar to 230.2 km/h (143.0 mph) setting the land speed record for a petrol powered rail vehicle.
The Trans-Siberian Railway is a network of railways connecting Moscow with the Russian Far East and the East Sea (Sea of Japan). It is the longest railway line in the world with the total length of 9,259 km (5,753 miles).

It travels through South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Tanzania. 9-day trip between Pretoria and Capetown will cost you $5,110 to $10,334 per person based on double occupancy, depending on cabin type.
If you travel on a tight budget, you can always try one of the trains in Pakistan, one of the most crowded train in the world. At least you get to be on fresh air.

Maglev Technology with this 581kph BEAST of a machine. Thats 361mph!!! Most tests here in the video are only at 500kph or 310mph. Still so fast, but it is the fastest "train" in the world @ 581km/h. The French TGV is on rails, where the MagLev floats by superconducting magnetic levitation. Cool, but currently $expensive$ technology. But what a killer sound wave this thing pushes...
