Breaking: Facebook Home for Android hands-on walkthrough video

As you might now, the Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been in the web game from his early years. What you are about to see is quite possibly his very first website filled with basic Java powered apps. The page hosted on Angelfire serves was and still is simply called Mark's Homepage.

The about page says the following: "Hi, my name is...Slim Shady. No, really, my name is Slim Shady. Just kidding, my name is Mark (for those of you that don't know me) and I live in a small town near the massive city of New York. I am currently 15 years old and I just finished freshman year in high school. I have remodeled this website in an attempt that perhaps some search engine will recognize it. I am trying to promote my new AOL Program, The Vader Fader, which you can download elsewhere on this site. It is a decent fader. If you have any comments about this website, the java applets on it, or the Vader Fader which I am trying to promote, please contact me. My E-Mail address is at the bottom of this page."

Here are screenshot of the more interesting apps you can find on Mark's website.

The Web

The Web I find the most interesting one as it already showed the hints of social networks with people being connected to each other. As mark described it:

"As of now, the web is pretty small. Hopefully, it will grow into a larger web. This is one of the few applets that require your participation to work well. If your name is already on The Web because someone else has chosen to be linked to you, then you may choose two additional people to be linked with."

The Mark's Webpage and the mentioned Java apps are still up and running, so you can go there anytime and give it a go. You just have to love the 90's table based design and java effects. But to be honest, Mark kept it pretty clean and simple even back the (not counting the shady ads), if the page really is his legacy.

I get a lot of blanks and plug-in update messages when I access the page with Firefox?

Try it with IE it works for me. All you have to do is confirm the Java requests.

I would be dissapointed if there wasn't any star wars related content on the site.

Facebook revealed the much anticipated Facebook Home for Android phones. It's quite interesting to say the least.
