Sony just twitted a video teaser announcing the PlayStation 2013 event. The event will took place on February 20 and we expect to see their next generation PlayStation gaming console the PlayStation 4.
Kaz Hirai, Sony Corp. CEO insinuated they might repeat the PlayStation 3 story, where they waited for competition to release their gaming console and only then hit the shelves with the "superior" device. PlayStation 3 started selling a whole year after the Xbox 360.
Microsoft recently announced the Xbox 360 successor that should be revealed to the public in summer this year and somehow convinced us they will start selling it prior to the new generation PlayStation. It remains to be seen. For additional info, The Wall Street Journal confirmed that the new PlayStation is indeed what we will be witnessing at the #PlayStation2013 event in a couple of weeks, on February 20.

I was really impressed with the PS3 as a whole entertainment package, not only gaming-related, but never bought one. I think the PS4 is going to end up in my living room.
