I just read the twit on their official twitter page. This Wednesday this show will begin. Let's just hope that they will really introduce something new or the "Ferrari" in a mobile world.
Nokia had a good reasons to switch to Windows. Although currently looking at the numbers of sold phones it doesn't look good but in the long term I think the decision will pay off.
Jolla will now most probably present a good phone, but they will need to build a whole ecosystem to be successful and this is much harder to achieve.
I see 2 options with releasing a whole new phone+OS.
1. You make the phone and OS so good and loaded with features that it doesn't a huge eco system right away 2. You make a great looking phone, with great camera and screen, plus a real game changing and innovative OS that people will love to use, then at same time you release the eco-system with let's say 100 or 200 most popular and best of the best mobile apps available today, so the people don't feel left out.
And in both cases you need a developer friendly SDK, great quality control and support that beats all the others, THEN maybe you can succeed.
