Change hair color the right way using Photoshop
There are many ways to change the color of a hair on a photo, let me show you one of the best and efficient ones using Photoshop.

1.
Open a photo with the person you want to change hair color.
I'm going to experiment with hair of the ever so lovely Claire Forlani.
2.
Choose the Quick Selection Tool (W for a keyboard shorcut).
3.
Select the hair on a person.
Click here, for the tutorial explaining how to use the Quick Selection Tool.
5.
In the Refine Edge settings window set View to On White.
6.
Set Radius to about 30 px (see picture).
7.
Choose Refine Radius Tool ...
8.
... and start deselecting the parts of the selection that shouldn't be selected.
A bit of clothing in my case. The final result depends on how much time you are willing to invest in fine selections and deselections.
9.
Click OK, to confirm the changes.
10.
Now click Create new fill or adjustment layer and choose Selective Color.
11.
A new adjustment layer with a mask should appear in your Layer window (see picture).
12.
In Selective Colors window set Colors to Neutrals.
13.
Now play with the color sliders to achieve the hair color of your choice (see picture).
