Several computer manufacturing companies complained about Microsoft blocking installation of other web browsers than IE in the Microsoft's newest operating system Windows 8. European Union Antitrust regulators are investigating if this really is the case. Joaquin Almunia, European Commissioner who is in charge of antitrust enforcement said, "In my personal talks with Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, he has given me assurances that they will comply immediately regardless of the conclusion of the antitrust probe". Meaning Microsoft will allow computer makers to install other web browsers in Windows 8.
