Nokia Lumia 920 is the new flagship phone by Nokia and the first smartphone with the newest Windows Phone 8 mobile operating system by Microsoft.

It has a 4.5-inch ClearBlack, PureMotionHD+ display that is suppose to be the best on the market and a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. A real cool thing about the new screen that snowboarders and skiers are really going to appreciate is you can use all of its touch functionalities without taking your gloves off! The next impressive feature of the Nokia Lumia 920 is the 8-megapixel PureView camera with Carl Zeiss lens and LED flash. The Nokia engineers managed to fit a physical camera stabilization system that does a darn good job when taking low light images or recording a 1080p HD video. Phone is rocking a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor. It has a 32GB of internal storage, 7GB additional storage in the Microsoft cloud service SkyDrive and 1GB of RAM. It does not have a memory card expansion. Lumia 920 with its 185 grams is certainly not the lightest smartphone on the market but it comes with a 2000 mAh battery.

As predicted Lumia supports wireless charging and NFC and it works really well with the new line of Nokia and JBL audio accessories. Windows Phone 8 seems to be very responsive and flawless. You also get upgraded Nokia Maps and the newest augmented reality app called Nokia City Lens which helps you find nearby restaurants, cafes, hotels and similar. Lumia 920 will come in glossy white, yellow and black colors.

The Nokia Lumia 820 has a 4.3-inch AMOLED display with a 800 x 480 which makes it quite inferior to the 920 but the smaller size ensures you a better one-hand handling. The smartphone is build as well as the 920 with its quality unibody and ceramic buttons. It sports the same 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor and 1GB of RAM. Nokia claims their processor is 30% more efficient as the quad-core ones the competition is integrating in their devices. Other features are 8GB of internal storage plus 7GB on SkyDrive and one thing that 920 doesn't have is the microSD slot.

Lumia 820 has a 8-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optic but unfortunately doesn't come with the PureView technology. It will also support wireless charging, LTE connectivity and NFC.

It is 123.8mm long, 68.5mm wide, 9.9mm thick and weighs 160grams and will be available in many different colors.

I really like the wirelles options and PureView technology. But 185 grams for 4,5" modelis a little bit too much, what do you say?

It looks like a great piece of engineering, I particularly like the little camera unit stabilization system. You can see the thing in action in the video you just posted. I tested the Nokia 808 PureView that has the same or similar camera technology and it works terrific. The 185 grams makes me a bit skeptical as well, but I will be the judge of the phone being much too heavy when I get my hands on it. And the fact you can use the device with your gloves on while you are on a ski slope is a thing of a beauty.

I really wonder how does 920 feels in the hands. Is it too big, too heavy or just something we will not bother about?

The best video about 920's software has been released. You can see the menus in Windows Phone 8 and much more. If you don't like the French language, mute the video and play some of your favorite music instead
