Grass graffiti with Photoshop

A little bit longer tutorial where you will be able to write custom text and transform it into a very nice grass graffiti effect.

Create new document and type something that you want.

I have created a document with dimensions 1024 x 768 pixels and used Tw Cen MT Condensed Extra Bold font.

After that merge all layers with clicking above on Layer and select Flatten Image.

Click on Channels, select Blue channel, click on it with right mouse button and select Duplicate Channel...

When a dialog windows appears, click on OK to confirm it.

Then select and view only Blue copy channel (see the picture).

Click on Image, Adjustments and select Invert.

Then select RGB channel to select all original channels.

Click on Edit and Select Fill...

New window will spear and select White for filling and click on OK.

Then select and view only Blue copy channel (see the picture).

Select Magic Wand Tool (shortcut is key W).

Press Ctrl key and click on all letters to select them all.

Then select RGB channel to select all original channels.

Create new layer.

Click on Edit and select Fill...

In a new window select Color... and set a blue color.

Then press OK twice to confirm all.

Select Background layer.

Click on Edit and select Fill...

In a new window select Color... and set a green color.

Then press OK twice to confirm all.

Click on Filter, Noise and select Add Noise...

In a new window select the same settings like I did and press OK button.

Click with right mouse button on a text layer and select Duplicate Layer...

When a dialog windows appears, click on OK to confirm it.

Press Ctrl + U to open the Hue/Saturaion window.

Them select Colorize and sett the same setting like I did.

Press the OK button when finished.

Select the duplicated layer with mouse and move it below the original layer (see the picture).

The duplicated layer must be selected.

Click on Filter, Other and select Offset...

In a new window select the same settings like I did and press OK button.

Select now the original layer with text (see the picture).

Click on Layer, Layer Style and select Stroke...

In a new window select the same settings like I did, for filling select the white color and press OK button.

Press Ctrl key and select both layers above the Background layer (see the picture).

Then press Ctrl + E, do merge them into one.

We will add the Noise filter again ...

Click on Filter, Noise and select Add Noise...

In a new window select the same settings like I did and press OK button.

We will add the stroke layer style again ...

Click on Layer, Layer Style and select Stroke...

In a new window select the same default settings, for filling select the black color and press OK button.
