Change the number of recent items in Windows 7

Let me show you how to set the number of the recently opened items that get shown in the start menu jump list.

This is the jump list I am talking about. In my case you can see the last Excels documents I've been working with.

To change the number of how many recent items you want in your jump lists to the following:

Right click the Windows Start button and choose Properties.

Choose the Start Menu tab and click Customize... button.

At the bottom of Customize Start Menu window there is Number of recent item to display in Jump Lists: setting, just set the number you want and click OK.
