How to save image as JPG in Gimp 2.8

It's a bit different procedure to save images as various file formats such as JPG, GIF, PNG and others in the new version of GIMP.

1.

Let's say you want to save your GIMP document in a popular JPEG image format.

2.

In the menu, click File and choose Export...

Not Save As... like in previous versions.

3.

Click Select File Type (see picture) ...

4.

... and choose JPEG image.

You can of course choose any type of image on the list.

5.

Choose the folder where you want to save your new JPG file and enter a name for your file.

If you want to create a new folder, just click the Create Folder button.

6.

All you have to do now is click Export, and look into the folder you save/export your file in.

After long time I have now again tried GIMP and I must say there is indeed a big improvement.

I still need to make some tests but if everything goes by the plan Photoshop will soon be history on my computer.
