Ghost effect in Adobe Premiere

Fun and basic step-by-step video editing tutorial, where we turn a person in video clip into a see through ghost using Adobe Premiere.

1.

Click here to download a video used in this lesson.

Open a new Adobe Premiere project and press Ctrl + I to import a video.

Choose the video Dreevoo_com_ghost.wmv you just downloaded.

You can, as always use one of your own video clips, but some little adjustments are probably going to be needed.

2.

Click and hold the video clip ...

3.

... and drag and drop it to Video 1 timeline.

4.

Now go to the frame on your timeline, just before the person we want to turn into a ghost appears.

At about 9:05 if you are using the same video clip as I.

5.

... just before this person shows up.

6.

Now choose the Razor Tool ...

7.

... and click to cut the clip exactly before the moment where the guy shows up.

8.

Choose the Selection Tool ...

9.

... click and hold the clip we just cut (the right one) ...

10.

... and drag it to Video 2 in your timeline.

11.

All you have to do now is go to Effects Control, Video Effects and set Opacity to 50%.

12.

That's all there is to it.

Click here to see my ghost in action. Don't freak out though. ;)
