Sharpen photo using high pass filter in Gimp

High pass filter is not something you get in gimp by default, but it's a great tool for making photos sharper.

Open a picture you want to make sharper in Gimp.

Go to layers window, and click Create a duplicate layer...

If you dont't see the layers press Ctrl + L to make it visible.

In the menu click Filters, Generic and choose High Filter Pass ...

... set Filter Radius and Contrast Adjust similar to my settings and click OK.

 
 
5.
 

Set the duplicated layer Mode to Overlay

 
 
6.
