My first image manipulation using Gimp
Let's play god and put a cougar's head on a lizard using GIMP. How does that sound?

1.
We're going to make a cross between a lion and a lizard.
Click here to download a picture of a lion and click here to download picture of the lizard.
2.
Open both pictures with GIMP.
3.
Select the lion picture and click Scissors Select Tool in Toolbox.
4.
Check the Feather edges and set the Radius to 6.0.
5.
Now start selecting the lion's head by clicking around it.
The selection line sticks automatically to the nearest edges but it doesn't always work as one would wish, that's why just keep clicking more frequently...
7.
Press Enter and you should get a selection similar to mine.
8.
Now go to your lizard picture, click Edit and Copy (Ctrl+C for a keyboard shortcut).
9.
Now click Edit, Paste As and New Layer.
10.
And you should get the lion's head as a new layer on the lizard image.
11.
Choose the Move Tool.
12.
Click, drag the head and set it over the lizard's head like I did.
13.
That's all, you just created your very own Liguar creature :)
You are now ready for the more advanced version of the animal manipulation Gimp tutorial:.
