In Microsoft Outlook 2010 click Contacts.

Click New Contact.
You can of course add a birthday date to your already existing contact, in this case, open a contact and jump straight to Step 4 of this tutorial.

Enter data for your new contact (name, email,...)
|

Now click the Details button, right next to General (see picture).
|
|
|

Click the None field next to Birthday to open the calendar and choose the day, person in this contact was born (see picture).

If warned the item must be saved, click OK.
|

And click Save & Close button.

If you created a new contact, then it should be visible among your contacts.
|

Now click Calendar (see picture).
|
|

|
Go to the date of your contacts birthday and you should be able to see contact's Birthday entry.
Birthdays are by default set as a recurring event, so from now on you shouldn't have any excuses left, if you still happen to forget, when the dates are due. ;)
