How to change desktop picture on Mac OS X

Want to change the desktop picture on your Apple computer and you're not quite sure how? Let me break it down for you.

  Author: mat | Version: Mac OS X Lion | 18th February 2012 |

1.

Click System Preferences.

2.

Click Desktop & Screen Saver.

3.

Or instead of the two steps above, you can right click your desktop and choose Change Desktop Background...

If the right click on your mouse doesn't seem to work, click here for the lesson on how to activate the right click on a mouse.

4.

You can choose on of the suggested desktop pictures, just click it and your desktop will change.

5.

You can also browse through the Apple menu on the left and choose one of the suggested pictures.

Or if you want to have one of your own picture as a desktop, the click Folders and choose Pictures (see picture).

6.

If your picture are not in the Pictures folder, then click the Add (+) button and browse to the folder with your own pictures.

7.

When you decided which picture you want to choose, just click it and that should be it.

8.

If you want, you can also select a whole folder of pictures and have them changed every 30 minutes or what ever time interval you choose (see picture).

9.

And that's my new desktop picture.
