Cut out the clip you want to slow down.
I'm going to slow down the clip in the middle.
If you want to slow the whole video down, then you don't need to cut into smaller pieces.

Now if you're going to slow down a clip in the middle of two other clips, then move the clip on the right side a little bit further right to make room for the slow motion clip (see picture).
When you are slowing down clips, duration of that clips becomes longer, so we need to make some room on timeline.

Now select the clip you want to slow down.
|
|
|

And click Ctrl + R.
In the new Clip Speed/Duration window enter how many percent you want to slow your clip down.
You can also enter the duration of the clip instead of percents.
Click OK.

If you slowed down the clip in the middle like I did, you need to move the clip on the right side back to the left, in order to fill the missing gap.
