Photoshop ray of light into a room
Let me show you how easy it is to recreate a ray of light comming through a window in the morning.

|

1.
|
|
|
Open a picture of a room with a sunny window similar to mine.
|
|
|
2.
|
|
|
Choose the Polygonal Lasso Tool.
|
|
|
3.
|
|
|
Make a selection similar to mine.
|
|
|
4.
|
|
|
Click Create a new layer button.
|
|
|
5.
|
|
|
Press D and X key to set the white foreground color.
Press ALT + DEL keys to fill the selection with white color.
Pess CTRL + D to deselect the selection.

|
|
Set the new layer opacity to 50%.
|
|
|

|
|
This is how it should look like at this point.
|

In the menu click Filter, Blur and choose Gaussian Blur...
In the new window set the Radious to about 6 pixels and click OK.
|

|

|
|
Click the Add layer mask button.
|
|
|

|
|
Press D to set the black and white color.
Choose the Gradient Tool.
|
|
|
11.
|
|
|
Click and drag the mouse to create a softer and more realistic light.
You can do that as many times as you want.
|
