Windows 7 on USB key with USB download tool

You can easily put a Windows 7 installation on your USB key easy to use Microsoft tool called Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool.

For this lesson you need an USB drive with the minimum capacity of 4GB (Gigabytes) and Windows 7 installation ISO file.

In case you don't have ISO installation file you can click here for the lesson that doesn't include ISO installation file.

Put your USB key/drive into the USB slot on your computer.

Don't forget to backup the files you have on your USB key/drive!

Click here to download Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool.

On the page click Download Now.

Click Save file.

When downloaded double click the Windows7-USB-DVD-tool.exe.

Click Run if asked.

In the tool installation window click Next.

Check I accept the terms in the Licence Agreement and click Next.

Click Install to proceed with the installation.

Click Finish.

Now you have a new Windows 7 USB DVD Download tool icon on your desktop. Double click it, to open the tool.

In the tool, click Browse and find your Windows 7 installation ISO file.

Click Next.

Click USB device.

Choose your USB key/drive ...

Click refresh button if you can't see your USB drive.

...and click Begin copying.

If you get the Not enough Free Space warning click Erase USB device.

Again, make sure you backuped the files on your USB key/drive!

Click  Yes to confirm.

Formating and copying process should now start.

When you get Backup completed status, then is your USB key/stick ready locked and loaded to install the Windows 7 on any supported system.
