How to create a sexy Christmas card using Photoshop

Let's create a sexy yet tasteful and Christmas inspired greeting card using an old paper texture.

  Author: mat | Version: CS5 | 16th December 2011 |

1.

Open a picture of a sexy girl (or boy).

I'm going to use a picture of a lovely Victoria's Secret model.

Click here to download the picture.

2.

Choose the Vertical Type Tool.

3.

Choose some beefy font and enter some text.

Click here to download font used in this lesson.

Click here for the tutorial on how to install a new font.

4.

Click to commit the written text (see picture).

5.

Press Ctrl + T to enter the Free transform mode and stretch the font like I did.

Press Enter when done.

6.

Right click the Background layer and choose Layer From Background...

7.

Now right click the text layer and choose Rasterize Type.

8.

Now click the Girl layer, drag it to the top of the layers, right click it ...

9.

... and choose Create Clipping Mask.

10.

This is how it should look like by now.

11.

Now let's bring in the old paper texture.

Click here to download the old paper texture.

In the menu click File and choose Place...

Click Enter.

12.

Resize the old paper layer to fit the picture and press Enter.

13.

Now click the old paper layer and drag it to the bottom of layers (see picture).

14.

Right click the girl layer and choose Duplicate Layer...

Click OK.

15.

Right click the new girl copy layer and choose Release Clipping Mask.

16.

Click the girl copy layer and drag it between the text layer and old paper layer.

17.

With the girl copy layer selected, click Filter, Blur and choose Gausian Blur...

Set the Radius to about 20 pixels and click OK.

18.

Set the girl copy layer blending mode to Overlay (see picture).

19.

Now select the old paper layer and set the Opacity to 60%.

20.

Now right click the text layer and choose Blending Options...

21.

Click Drop Shadow on the left side and then choose the same settings as I did (see picture).

Click OK.

22.

HoHoHo!
