Broken glass on iPhone Photoshop tutorial.
Let's break the Gorilla glass on a perfectly good iPhone 4S using image of a phone and image of a broken glass.

Click here to download iPhone image. Click here to download broken glass image.
Open the iPhone image.
|
|
|
2.

|
|
In the menu click File, choose Place and open the broken glass image.
|
|
|

|
|
Rotate the glass and resize it just like I did (see picture).
|
|
|

|
|
Now hold Ctrl while dragging the corners. You want the glass to fit perfectly on iPhone.
Press Enter when done adjusting.

|
|
Set the layer blending mode to Screen (see picture).
|
|
|

|
|
Create a new layer (see picture).
|
|
|

|
|
Choose the Gradient Tool.
Press D and X to select the white foreground and black background color.
|
|
|

|
|
Select the Radial Gradient (see picture)...
|
|
|

|
... click and drag the mouse to create a gradient similar to mine.
|
|

|
Set the new layer's blending mode to Screen and opacity to about 75%.
|
|
|

Choose the Move Tool ...
|
|
|

|
... and if needed move the gradient layer so it's center is covering the broken glass hole.
|

|
Choose the Polygonal Lasso Tool ...
Or what ever selecting tool you're more comfortable with.

|

|
|
...and make a selection around iPhone's glass.
Press Ctrl + Alt + I to invert the selection and press Delete key to delete the selection.

|
|
Choose the Eraser Tool ...
|
|
|

|
|
|
... and erase hole in the glass area to achieve more realistic effect.
|
|
|
17.
|
|
|
Press Ctrl + L and adjust the levels a bit (see picture).
Click OK.
|

|
Voila, you just broke a perfectly nice iPhone 4S, why would anyone do that?! ;)
