Adding a new photoshop brush

You can add extra brushes to the existing ones in Photoshop. Just follow my steps to find out how.

1.

Click here to open the www.brusheezy.com website where you can download more then 1500 Photoshop brushes.

Just keep browsing through the brushes until you find something you like.

2.

When you see the brush you like, click it.

I needed some Tattoo brushes and I found them.

3.

Click Preview to see what the brushes look like.

4.

Click the close icon.

5.

Click Download File!

6.

Choose Save File and click OK.

7.

Right click the downloaded file and click Open Containing Folder.

8.

Right click the file, click Open With and Windows Explorer.

9.

Click the folder.

10.

Photoshop brush files end with .ABR. In my case I have a lot of different ABR files (brushes) and some even in different folders.

Just select all the files, right click and Open.

11.

Photoshop should open, if not open it and create a  new file. File and  New  (Ctrl+N for keyboard shortcut)

12.

Click OK.

13.

Now click the Brush Tool icon.

14.

Click the Brush Preset Picker. (see picture)

15.

And choose your new brush.

The newest are always at the bottom.

16.

If it's too big, reduce the size.

17.

And just click somewhere in the new document to test your brush.

Mine is a dragoon tattoo.

18.

It's easy to delete a brush, just open the Brush Preset Picker, right click the brush you want to get rid of and click Delete Brush.

19.

Click OK to confirm.

20.

The brushes you add extra are just like any other built-in ones. You can for example change the color of the brush.

Click the Set foreground color.

21.

Choose the color and click OK.

22.

And click somewhere to add the colored version of your brush.

Pretty neat  don't you think? You can do some amazing stuff using the brushes.
