Windows 7 gadgets

Gadgets put information and fun like news, pictures, games and the weather right on your desktop. Let's see how to activate them.

Right click your Desktop and click Gadgets.

Gadgets window pops up. Choose a gadget and double click it.

I've chosen the weather gadget.

You can cab make the gadget bigger by clicking the Larger size icon. (see picture)

You can put the gadget anywhere on your desktop you like. Just click the drag icon, hold the mouse button and drag it anywhere. Just release the mouse button to drop the gadget on the desktop.

By clicking the Option icon you can set the options of the gadget.

In the Weather gadget you can set the  location you wish to see the weather report from. Just enter the city, click search and choose the search result.

Click OK when finished.

This is how the bigger version of the gadget looks like.

For more gadget, open the gadget window just like in Step 1 and click Get more gadgets online.

Microsoft Gadgets web page opens in your browser. Click Get more desktop gadgets for even more of them.

When you see the gadget you want, just click Download underneath.

And click OK to start the download.

Click Install to install the gadget.

And the gadget appears on your desktop.

I've chosen the Facebook gadget. You just need to click Connect and enter you Facebook user and password to connect to Facebook. All our Facebook feeds get shown in the gadget. You can like the feeds, comment on them and write status reports.

To remove the gadget from the desktop just click the remove button.

To completely uninstall the gadget from your computer, open the gadgets windows (just like in Step 1), right click the gadget and click Uninstall.

Click Uninstall.
