How to add a custom pattern into text
Let's create our own pattern and make the plain text look a bit richer and nicer looking.

Click OK.

Choose the Pencil Tool.
4.
Press D key to set the black foreground color.
And paint the same pattern as I did.

In the menu click Edit and choose Define Pattern...
Enter the name of the pattern and click OK.
6.

10.
Click the document and type some text ...
11.
... then click the Commit any current edits button.
12.
Press Ctrl + T then resize and move the text until you're satisfied.
Hold the Shift key to keep the text proportions while resizing.
Click OK when finished.
13.
Let's apply some effects to the text.
In the menu click Layer, Layer Style and choose Drop Shadow...
Choose the same settings as I did.
14.
Now select the Gradient Overlay on the left and choose the same settings as I did.
15.
Select the Pattern Overlay on the left and again choose the same settings as I did.
You need to choose the pattern you created earlier.
16.
Select the Stroke on the right and again choose the same settings as I did.
18.
You can add some more text in different color.
Just go with it, experiment and don't be afraid of using the Forum if you have any questions or comments.
