Create a bubbly text

Let's make a cool bubblegum looking logo using a certain font and applying few layer styles.

  Author: mat | Version: CS5 | 6th October 2011 |

1.

Open a new Photoshop document and choose the Horizontal Type Tool (see picture).

2.

Choose a rounded bubble like font. If you don't have one, click here to download the BubbleGum font I'm using in this lesson.

Click here for the how to install fonts lesson.

3.

Choose a light color for a foreground and darker version of the same color for background .

I've chosen 78b31b for foreground and 475f22 for background.

4.

Set the font size to 60 pt, click on the empty document and enter a word.

5.

Right click the word and choose Warp Text.

6.

In the Warp Text settings window enter the same settings as I did and click OK.

7.

We're going to make a copy of your word, choose the darker color and use it for a shadow.

Now press Ctrl + J to duplicate the layer and select the original layer.

If you don't see the copy of your text, don't worry it's there it's only on top of the original layer.

8.

Click the Color (see picture).

9.

A color chooser window opens. Click the Background color to select the color you chose before (see picture).

Click OK.

10.

Now drag the layer a bit downward to create a shadow effect (see picture).

11.

Right click the copy layer and choose Inner Shadow...

12.

If you have the same font and the same font size then choose the same settings as I did.

Otherwise you might want to try other values.

13.

Now go to Inner Glow blending options.

If you have the same font and the same font size then choose the same settings as I did.

Otherwise you might want to try other values.

14.

Now go to Gradient Overlay blending options.

If you have the same font and the same font size then choose the same settings as I did.

Otherwise you might want to try other values.

For a Gradient choose Foreground to Background.

Click OK.

15.

This is how it should look like by now.

16.

Now choose the layer original layer, right click it and choose Inner Glow....

17.

Choose the same settings as I did.

Click OK.

18.

Now select the Ellipse Tool (see picture)...

19.

...and draw the ellipse to cover aprox. half of the word (see picture).

20.

Select the new ellipse Layer...

21.

...right click it and choose Inner Shadow...

22.

Choose  the same settings as I did.

Click OK.

23.

Click the shape square to get rid of the ellipse line (see picture).

24.

Done!
