WinRAR installation and usage
You got a .rar file and you don't how to open it, some one asked you to send him "a rar file" or you just need a good archiving software? Download and install WinRAR.

Click here to open the WinRAR download page.
If you have a 32 bit Windows click WinRAR x86 (32bit), if your windows are 64 bit then click on WinRAR x64 (64 bit).

When the download 's finished, double click the Winrar.....exe file.
|
|

Click Done. And that's it, WinRAR archiver is now installed on your computer.

Let's see how to extract a .rar archive file.
Right mouse click on your .rar file and then click on Extract to ...
In my case Extract to pix\ because I'm extracting a .rar file named pix.rar.

A folder named like you .rar file was created.
In my case, a folder named pix.
Double click the folder.
|

In my case, the archive contained pictures.
|
|

Now, let's see, how to put the files in archive.
Mark the files you want to add to the archive. Click the mouse button on the first file you want to mark, hold the button and run the mouse over the files and let the mouse button go.
You can archive the whole folder as well, just right click the folder and click Add to archive.

Right click you file selection and click Add to ...
In my case was pix.rar.

And the archive file containing the files you selected was created.
|
|

Let's now open the WinRAR program.
Click Start -> All programs -> WinRAR -> WinRAR
|
|

|
WinRAR should now open.
You can do all the archiving and extracting and much more in here, but I do most of my archiving and extracting the way I showed you, directly in Windows Explorer.
