I had to reduce the Max. Radius to 4 for my picture is a bit smaller (640 x 480).

Click OK.

10.

I again reduced it to 4...

Click OK.

11.

...and again.

Click OK.

12.

Here I increased the Radius a bit and reduced the Threshold to keep more details of the original picture.

Click OK.

13.

Click OK.

14.

And Stop.

15.

Pretty awesome outcome, don't you think?

Don't be afraid to play with the each setting in previous steps, the outcome differs from a setting to setting.

I've been experimenting with different AI platforms recently, and after reading this article, I have to say it made me reflect on how accessible AI is becoming. Personally, I’ve found DeepSeek ( https://deepseekdeutsch.io/ ) incredibly useful—especially because it’s free and optimized for German. It feels like a great alternative for anyone looking for fast, no-login access to smart AI assistance.

Any suggestions for better settings for https://amongusonline.io/ higher resolution images? And if I want to keep some of the original colors, should I edit the layer separately after running the action?

I’ve played around with Photoshop comic actions before, and yeah, adjusting the radius and threshold really affects how it keeps the image’s details. For smaller images especially, tweaking those settings is key to getting a good result. I usually duplicate the original layer first, so I can always blend it back in for more color or detail if needed.

I’ve tried comic-style effects in Photoshop too, and honestly, it’s a lot of fun once you get the layering right. I usually mess with the brightness/contrast a bit before running the action so the result doesn’t come out too harsh or washed out. One thing that helped retain more of the original color was masking in parts of the original layer after the comic effect, just like blending it back gently to keep some realism. If you’re mixing source images or adjusting file types before editing, it’s super helpful to use a format that handles quality well. I often prep my images with this BMP converter to switch them over to PNG or JPEG depending on what I need, [URL="https://www.movavi.com/image-converter/b....https://www.movavi.com/image-converter/bmp-converter.html[/URL].] Keeps the details cleaner when editing later.
