My first PowerPoint 2010 presentation

In this lesson you will learn how to create a nice basic presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint 2010.

Click Start, All Programs, Microsoft Office, MicroSoft PowerPoint 2010 to start the PowerPoint.

A new empty document with two entry fields opens.

If not click File, New and choose Empty Template.

Click Click to add title and enter the title of your presentation.

Now click Click to add subtitle and enter the subtitle of your presentation or leave it blank in case you don't want to enter the subtitle.

In the menu click Home and the upper half of the New Slide button (see picture).

A new slide page is now open.

Click the title field and enter the title for this slide.

Then click Click to add text ...

... and enter the first point of your slide, when you finish typing, press Enter and write another point ...

... and so on until you have all the points you for your slide.

Keep your slides ON POINT, be clear with your statements, remember less is more, no one wants to go through slides with containing to much info. Slide should only be a tool to help you present the topic you want.

Click the bottom half of the New Slides button (see picture)...

And choose the slide appropriate to the topic of your next slide.

I chose Comparison for I'm going to compare dreevoo with the majority of other internet learning sites.

Click and enter the titles again then click Click to add text in the first comparison entry field (see picture) and start typing your text.

Go to the next entry filed and enter the text here as well.

Now we're going to add a picture to the first slide.

Now choose the first slide  (see picture).

In the menu click Insert and Picture.

Choose the picture you want on your slide and click Insert.

A picture you chose is showing up.

Drag and drop the picture anywhere you want it to be.

Let's make the background of your presentation a bit more interesting.

Right click the slide and choose Format Background.

As a Fill choose Gradient fill...

...click Apply to All and then click Close.

Your first presentation is finished. Now press F5 on the keyboard and enjoy the show.

Use the mouse button or arrows keys to move through your slides. Press Esc if you want to leave the presentation.
