Photoshop New Year's Greetings Card with a Snowman

We will create a beautiful new year greetings card from a scratch and after that add will also add a picture of a snowman and some text.

Create a new document.

After that set dark red color and a little bit lighter red color like I did.

Select Gradient Tool (G).

Then select the gradient as I did on toolbar (see my pic).

The drag a mouse over the document to create a gradient like I did.

Select Custom Shape Tool.

Them press D key and X key to set the white color.

Click above on Shape picker, after that click on more options icon (see my pic) and select Nature.

Confirm changes with OK.

Click again above on Shape picker and choose Snowflake 1 shape.

Draw it on a document.

Press Shift key if you want to draw it proportionally.

Draw another one with different size.

Right click on a document and choose Snowflake 2 shape.

Draw more snowflakes with a different shape (see my pic).

Right click on a document and choose Snowflake 3 shape.

And draw even snowflakes.

Repeat last steps to place snowflakes on the whole document (see my pic).

Lower layer's opacity on random snowflakes shapes (see my pic).

Click here to download a picture of a snowman.

You can add a custom picture if you want.

Click above on File and select Place...

In a explorer window select a picture and click Place.

Place and transform the picture on a document like I did and confirm changes by pressing Enter key.

Press Shift key if you want to draw it proportionally.

Click above on Layer, Layer Style and choose Stroke..

On a new window set the same values as I did and press OK.

Create a new layer.

Select Rectangular Marquee Tool (M).

Make a selection on the bottom part of a snowman layer (see my pic).

Them press D key and X key to set the white color.

Press Alt (Option on MacOS) and Delete key to fill the selected area with white color.

Click above on Select and choose Deselect.

Drag the layer of white color to the top.

Set the layer's opacity to 60% (see my pic).

After that choose a random font.

The white color should remain selected.

Click on a document and type anything you want.

After that press Ctrl (Command on MacOS) and T keys to transform the text layer and drag it on white stripe and resize it (see my pic).

Press Enter when finished.

We are finished.
