Airplane mode in Windows 8
Window 8 has also an airplane mode, which allows immediate turn off all the connections you have on your computer.

In my case I am connected to my home network.
On start screen go to upper or lower right corner and select Settings.
|
|
|

|
|
Now click Change PC Settings...
|
|
|

|
|
...and select Network.
|
|
|

|
|
At Airplane mode click on the swich below Turn this on to stop all wireless communication.
|
|
|

|
|
You will notice that all connection are off.
Click on plane icon...
|
|
|

|
|
...and turn airplane mode off.
|
|
|
8.
|
|
|
All connections are turned on again.
|
