How to set Shutdown icon in taskbar in Windows 8
Similar guide for Windows 8 is already posted on the site, but here you will get familiar how to add an shutdown icon to your taskbar.

To shutdown the system in Windows 8 is a little awkward. You have to go to upper or lower right corner to select Power and then Shut down.

Right-click on a desktop, click New and select Shortcut.
|
|
|

|
At Type the location of the item enter shutdown /s/t 0 and click Next.
|
|
|

|
Name the shortcut and click Finsh.
|
|
|

|
Shortcut is created.
In case you don't see the shortcut, go to View and select Show desktop icons.

We will also add appropriate icon for the shortcut and set it to start screen and taskbar.
Right-click on the shortcut and select Properites.

In Shutdown Properties click Change icon...
|
|
|

The warning shows up that specific file contains no icons. Click OK.
In new window select any icon and click OK.

Right-click on the icon and select Pin to Start.

Go to start screen. You will see the icon you have just created.

Right-click on the icon and select Pin to taskbar.
