We will learn how to make a drop down list and validate the data you enter. It can be quite helpful when organizing your data.

1.
Enter the similar data I've entered and choose the cell where you want a drop down list.
2.
Click
Data
in the menu.
3.
Click
Data Validation
and choose
Data Validation
.
4.
In the new Data Validation window choose
List
in the the Allow field.
5.
Click in the
Source
field and select the cells containing the data you want to have in the drop down list.
6.
Click the
Error Alert
tab.
7.
Enter the error message title and the error message.
8.
Click the drop down list cell ...
9.
... and select an entry.
10.
Now write something random in the same cell...
11.
... a window with the error message you entered previously should appear.
