How to fix Instagram hashtag problem
You add a hashtag to your uploaded Instagram pictures but when you click the hashtag your picture doesn't show up there? Yes I know, it's pretty frustrating, but I happen to know how to fix this!

1.
First of all you need to have your Instagram account connected to your Facebook account.
On you mobile device (iOS or Android) open the Instagram app.
In Instagram tap your profile icon (see picture).
2.
Tap the Options button (see picture).
btw: you are more than welcome to follow my Instagram: @gitdwon
4.
Enable Facebook.
Important! In case Facebook is already enabled, like in my case, disable it and then enable it again.
You need to have a Facebook account as well, preferably running on your device and logged in.
5.
To disable the Instagram to Facebook link, tap Unlink.
6.
When asked if you are sure you want to Unlink your Facebook account, tap Yes, I'm sure.
7.
Tap Facebook, to link your Instagram account to your Facebook account.
If asked for account authorization, confirm it.
8.
Your Instagram account is now linked to Facebook.
9.
Your mobile device is now lock and loaded and the tags should be now working. But to enable the tags on pictures you already uploaded to Instagram, then there's one more thing you need to do.
Preferably in your web browser (you can use your mobile device or a computer) open iconosquare.com website - formerly known as statigram. Click the Sign in button (see picture).
10.
Enter your Instagram username and password and click Log in.
12.
Enter an email and click Save & Step in.
13.
This is basically your Instagram feed pretty much like you have in your native Instagram app.
Click My media.
14.
Now find the image where the hashtags aren't working and click it.
15.
Next to the image notice the comments, click View all button if you have a lot of them.
Now simply roll your mouse over the comments, a trash bin icon should appear. Click it to delete the comments with hash tags.
Delete all the comments with hashtags that aren't working.
Now go back to your mobile device, and reenter the comments for the image you just removed them from. Check out if the hashtags are working again. If not, turn off and turn back on the phone - it worked for my iPhone 5S.
You must also enter the hashtags you used in your pictures description if you want them to work.
And if it still isn't working, be sure to read all the comments bellow, as you will find some additional tips and tricks for your Instagram hashtag problem.

This did not work at all. Also, it seems like you're using an older version of Instagram. |

Hey chendaddy
I've tried everything, from reinstalling the app, resetting phone to factory defaults, creating a new account but nothing worked. But when I connected my old account to my Facebook account, it started working immediately.
It's an up-2-date Instagram for iOS, but it also worked for a lot folks with Androids.
Did you go through the steps 9 - 15 as well? And mind the step 4, if your Facebook sharing is already enabled, disable it and enable it back again.
And also, mind the step 15, especially the part saying, "You must also enter the hashtags you used in your pictures description if you want them to work".

Hey cinetici thanks for the feedback.
If you say you followed the procedure thoroughly and it didn't work, I would suggest you going through the procedure again, sometimes it works if you repeat the procedure a couple of times. You might also try reinstalling the Instagram app and than repeat the steps once more (but reinstalling the app usually doesn't make the hashtag problem disappear).
As the last resort I suggest you to contact Instagram tech support via Instagram bug report and at the same time report your problem to @InstagramHelp on Twitter. More people report this issue, more chances are they are going to fix this annoying bug.
Hope it works out for you asap!

Hey ljallan,
just to be sure, here are some official Instagram rules that can prevent you from posting comments if you do not follow them:
- You can only include up to 5 @ mentions in a single comment
- You can only include up to 30 #hashtags on a single photo
- You cannot post multiple, duplicate comments (including emoji)
You can always try deleting Instgram, restarting you phone and installing Instagram again (if you already didn't). But if you tried everything mentioned in this guide and comments, then I am afraid you will have to wait for this glitch to go away. This things tend to get fixed "by themselves" after a while. And do report it to both bug report and Twitter you can see in the post above. I know, it's an unnecessary hustle, this things should just work.
But if you come up with a solution that worked for you, please be so kind and post it here. Thank you!
