How to use emoticons in Instagram on iPhone

If you are a Instgram user, then you most probably notices the smilies or so called emoticons people are typing in comments. Let me show you how to use emoticons on your iPhone or iPad.

Tap Settings ...

... tap Keyboard ...

... tap Keyboards ...

... tap Add New Keyboard...

... and choose Emoji.

A new Emoji keyboard with hundreds of emotions is now enabled on your iOS powered device.

To use the new icons in Instagram comments or in other services like Mail, iMessage, Twitter, Facebook,... tap the languages button on the keyboard (see picture).

Now you can choose from many, many different emoticons, just swipe through them and choose from different categories. To type an emoticon simply tap the one you like.

To go back to your regular keyboard, click the Languages icon again.
