You would expect the North Pole to be all white, covered in snow and cold, but not at the moment, as the North Pole literally turned into a lake. Global warming or natural process?
North Pole is experiencing 1 to 3°C higher temperatures than usual for July, resulting the otherwise snow-covered landscape to melt and form a lake. But let's not immediately jump to any conclusions and blame the climate changes caused by global warming as the North Pole melting has happened before.
The animation bellow shows the North Pole melting process happening between June 30 and July 25.
