If you are an Android smartphone owner, than go to Google Play store and search for "shazam". Choose the Shazam app and Install it.
Shazam is also available for iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, Windows Phone, Windows 8, Blackberry and some of the Nokia phones.

Now that you have Shazam installed on your smartphone, let's test is how good it really is.
I'm going to open YouTube on my laptop and play Fluorescent Adolescent by Artic Monkeys.

Now open Shazam app, confirm what ever needs confirming and as the music is playing tap the big black button in the middle of the screen.
Shazam is using your phone's Internet connection, so if you are not connected via Wi-Fi or depending on your plan and rates, it could cost you some money every time you use.

Shazam is now listening and analyzing the sound coming out of my laptop's speakers ...

... and I got the correct result pretty much instantly.
Now how awesome is that?

You can now scroll down the screen of the Shazam app to share the result with your friends, check out the videos on YouTube, find out if the band is touring near you, you can even check the whole Discography if available.
