Log in to your Gmail account, click the Email settings button on the right and choose Configure Inbox from the menu (see picture).

You can now select what kind of tabs you want your emails to be organized in.
Primary all or your personal person to person emails, and emails that don't appear in other tabs.
Social are all your social network emails, like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, media sharing websites, dating networks and similar.
Promotions are all the emails you get form marketing sites, offers and deals you are signed to.
Updates are personal, auto-generated confirmation, bills, and statements.
Forums are emails you get from online groups, forums, discussion boards, and mailing lists.

When done choosing your new Gmail Inbox tabs, click Save.
|

And click Okay, got it!
|

|
Welcome to the brand new Gmail tabs, as you might notice, Gmail did a pretty good job automatically categorizing emails to new tabs.

If you want to add or remove certain tabs, then click the + button (see picture).
|

You can now include or exclude the tabs.
Don't forget to click Save when done.

In case you want to move message from one Gmai tab into another click and hold the message ...

... and simply drag and drop it onto the tab.

If you want to move all the emails with the same recipients you just moved than click Yes.
|

Other way to move the emails to different Gmail tabs is to right-click the message, click Move to tab and choose Forums.
