Create a ribbon with custom logo using Photoshop
I'm going to show you how to create an attractive ribbon with any given logo or text from scratch using Photoshop.
1.
Create a new document or open a pattern image.
To get a nice pattern or texture image go to images.google.com and for an example enter "wood pattern".
3.
Choose the Rectangular Marquee Tool (M for a keyboard shortcut).
4.
Create a selection similar to mine (see picture).
5.
Choose the Polygonal Lasso Tool.
6.
Now hold Alt key (Option on MacOS) and remove the piece of the selection the same way I did (see picture).
7.
Choose a bright foreground color.
8.
And the darker version for the background color.
Light and dark blue in my case.
9.
Choose the Gradient Tool. In the toolbar above enable the Linear Gradient and Foreground to Background gradient on the left (see picture).
10.
Now click and drag your mouse from left to right to create a gradient.
Remember you can repeat this step as many times as you want to create that perfect gradient you like.
11.
In the menu click Layer, Layer Style and choose Drop Shadow...
In the settings window choose the same settings as I did.
Don't close the window yet ...
12.
Click the Inner Glow in the left pane and choose the same or similar settings as I did.
Choose a similar dark color to your Background color.
Click OK.
14.
Press D, to set a black/white color.
15.
In the menu click Filter, Render and choose Clouds.
16.
In the menu click Filter, Sketch and choose Chrome...
In the settings window choose the similar settings to mine and click OK.
17.
Set the new layer opacity to 50% and blending mode to Multiply (see picture).
19.
You can now add a logo or text of your choice to the newly created ribbon.
If you need some help with that, simply drop me a comment.
