Create a customizable lomo style action in Photoshop
If you are a fan of lomo style cross-processed photos then this should be right up your alley. We will create a time saving Photoshop action, you can later on use on your photos.

If it's the first time you are creating a Photoshop action, I would suggest you to go through a short How to create Photoshop action tutorial. It's not necessary, but it will be easier for you to follow this one.
Open a photograph.
2.
Go to Actions and click the Create new action button.
3.
Name your new action and click Record.
4.
In the menu click Layer -> New Adjustment Layer and choose Curves...
Click OK.
Now in the Curves Adjustment Layer settings, choose the Red channel.
Create a same curve as I did. Simply click and drag the curve at the same points as I did.
5.
Choose the Green channel.
Create a same curve as I did. Simply click and drag the curve at the same points as I did.
6.
Now choose the Blue channel.
First, click and drag the start and end point of the curve the same way as I did.
7.
And create the same curve as I did by clicking and dragging at 3 additional points on the curve (see picture).
8.
We now got that lomo style, cross-processed look we went for. All we need to do now is to adjust the levels a bit.
9.
In the menu click Layer -> New Adjustment Layer and choose Levels...
Click OK.
Only slightly drag the black slider to the right and the while slider to the left.
10.
You can now close the Adjustment Layers setting windows.
11.
Our Lomo Photoshop action is complete, click the Stop playing/recording button.
12.
Here's my end result.

Let's now try to apply the Lomo/Cross-process action we just made to another photo and let's see if it works the way we imagine it should.
Open a new photo.
14.
Go to Actions, click the Cross-Process action we made and click the Play selection button.
15.
Pretty neat right? From now on you can use the Cross-Process action button for all the photos you want to apply the lomo effect to without the need of going through the whole curves and levels setting process.
16.
And what's even cooler, as we used the Adjustment Layers, you can simply double click the icon next to them ...
17.
... and the Adjustment Layer settings window shows up. You can now fine tune the image if you are not quite satisfied with the default settings we made.
Enjoy your "lomography"
